Is this group only for violin players?
No. The Chamber Group is for string players — violin, viola, and cello are all at home here, and the repertoire typically features combinations of these instruments alongside piano where appropriate.
What kind of music does the Chamber Group play?
A rich mix spanning early music through to contemporary chamber works, including collaborations with other senior musicians. Repertoire is chosen to challenge and inspire advanced string players.
Do I need to be having lessons at YMM to join?
No, though being part of the YMM community is natural. Students at grade 6+ with strong ensemble awareness are welcome to enquire regardless of where they have their lessons.
