Role: Choir Leader, plus optional Specialist Piano or Vocal teaching.

(Autumn Term 2024)

We’re seeking a talented and dynamic choir leader.
We’re looking for a candidate who can energise students to sing with confidence from a place of inspiration. The role includes leading several open-access age-differentiated choirs. Traditionally the choirs and students have sung Gospel, Jazz, Folk, Soul, Rock, Pop and World music, but we are open to tailoring the role around a tutor's artistic specialism(s). Functional keyboard skills would be an advantage as would an openness to creative practice and collaboration with other ensembles across the school. This is an opportunity to lead the development of YMM's choir offer.

Young Music Makers is a non-profit music centre for the whole family of over 320 students which has been at the heart of music-making in North London for over 50 years. We are strong advocates for generic excellence and empowering students with a range of creative skills, but over and above that we committed to the idea that simply having music as part of your life promotes personal and community well-being. You would be joining a team of stellar musicians in a welcoming, supportive environment where there are opportunities to lead and initiate ensembles and connect your artistic practice to teaching.
