FAQs

Who is Choir 2 for?

Choir 2 is for children aged 9–12 who are ready to develop vocal skills further. It covers ensemble singing in multi-part harmony, musicianship, and a broad repertoire including pop, jazz, musicals, and folk.

Does my child need to have been in Choir 1?

Choir 1 is a great preparation, but it is not a requirement. Children with singing experience from school or elsewhere are also very welcome — get in touch and we can discuss suitability.

What kind of music does Choir 2 sing?

A varied and contemporary mix: pop songs, jazz standards, musical theatre pieces, and folk tunes — chosen to develop both technique and a genuine love of music.

Does my child need to be having singing lessons too?

No. Choir 2 is open to all children in the right age range whether or not they have individual lessons at YMM.

How do I join?

Just get in touch via our Contact or enquiry page and we will let you know about availability and the best way to get started.

Will there be chances to perform?

Yes. Every group at YMM performs at the end-of-term concert, and many groups also play at weekly café concerts and special events throughout the year.
