Who is Rock & Pop 1 for?
Rock & Pop 1 is for young electric guitarists, bassists, and drummers who know a few basic chords and want to start playing in a band. It focuses on blues, rock, and pop covers with a strong emphasis on developing band skills.
What level do I need to be?
You need a basic foundation — a few chords on guitar or bass, or beginner drum skills. The group is designed to develop band confidence from an early stage, not to require advanced technique.
My child plays keyboards or sings — can they join?
Rock & Pop 1 is primarily for guitarists, bassists, and drummers. If your child plays keys or sings, get in touch and we can advise whether there is a suitable place in one of YMM’s other groups.
How do I join?
Just get in touch via our Contact or enquiry page and we will let you know about availability and the best way to get started.
Will there be chances to perform?
Yes. Every group at YMM performs at the end-of-term concert, and many groups also play at weekly café concerts and special events throughout the year.
