Eclectic pianist Stefano Marzanni has performed regularly across Europe and received his Master in piano performance from the Royal College of Music, studying under Dina Parakhina. His studies were generously supported by a Kenneth and Violet Scott Award and the Pidem Foundation Award.
Stefano was born in Brescia, Italy and received a Diploma in Piano (full marks with honors) from Conservatorio “Luca Marenzio” where he studied with Riccardo Bettini. He later studied at the Conservatorio “G.Verdi” in Milano with Vincenzo Balzani.
As a classical pianist in collaboration with violinist Emma Arizza, Stefano has performed at numerous venues and festivals in UK and Italy including Kings Place, the Royal Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall and St James’s Piccadilly in London, the Lyceum Club internazionale in Florence and the Teatro dei Filodrammatici in Milano. Stefano has attended masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians such as Leonid Margarius, Filippo Gamba, Natalia Trull, Riccardo Risaliti, Cristiano Burato, and Riccardo Zadra.
He is active as a jazz and pop musician, and his collaborations are not limited to a specific genre, including participation in wider projects such as the Egyptian Jazz project with singer Ahmed Harfoush. This intense collaboration has led him to perform around the world, touring in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Dubai Opera House, the Carlton Hotel for the MIPIM exhibition in Cannes, the EFG London Jazz Festival and Pizza Express in Soho.
He has been performing together with Italian singer Elena Lorenzi in an original show “Cabaret beyond borders” which includes music from French, German and Russian cabaret. The show has been played in important venues in London, such as the Crazy Coqs at the Brasserie Zedel in Piccadilly and the Jazz room at the Bull’s Head and OSO in Barnes.
Stefano has also played regularly as a pianist in theatrical productions, including ‘Parfumul Strazilor’ in collaboration with the actress Sandra Mangini. The show was performed in theatre festivals including LMA, Lido Music Agosto in Venice, Forum Altenberg in Bern (Switzerland), Scene di Paglia Festival in Padova and the theatre of Ca’ Foscari University in Venice.
